The Shrine of Christ's Passion

"This is a beautiful place to visit and a must-see if you're in the area! It has two gift shops and a walking trail to follow the stations of the cross. There are speakers at each stop where when you press a button, Bill Curtis gives a commentary on that specific station. There is beautiful music playing throughout the walk as well. I'm so glad I made a visit here! This is also free, but you can offer a donation if you wish."

"Not what I expected. The different areas were beautiful and the scenery was also nice. However, this was built next to a busy and LOUD Highway. It was hard to hear some of the audio speakers because of this. Also, while we were walking the Christ’s Journey, in front of us, there was an older man on a golf cart giving a tour or maybe it was a group of friends he was carting around?? Anyways, I was shocked at how loud and rude they were. There are signs posted “this is Holy Ground, please no cell phones” but yet they were hooting and hollering and laughing, taking pictures, talking on their cell phones. At each station he stopped the big golf cart in the middle of the pathway, right in front of the statues, making it hard to walk around and making it hard to view them and attempt to say a prayer... I honestly wanted to enjoy each station. I wanted to pray and have some silence and peace, enjoy this beautiful place... but here is a tour group being disruptive.. I did go slow and waited for them to get far ahead, but it was hard to do."

"This was a great experience for my family. We spent 3 hours here walking through the Stations of the Cross, Moses and the 10 Commandments, Our Lady of Guadalupe plaza, the family plaza, and the two gift shops. Each station has a column that you can press a button and it will play a short audio talking about the station."

"Loved it, me and my group had a great time. Nice variety in the gift shop, and the trail is pretty long and has lots of statues. We went when there was a ton of snow on the ground so everything was very pretty. My only gripe is the fact that it’s so commercialized, the gift shop is mandatory when you go in and out. I understand it’s a no-profit thing, but it’s a little funny that right after you witness the ascension you’re bombarded with hallmark statuettes that cost $500. But still a fun experience! Will be going again in the summer."
