"If you're looking for a salon with effective communication, affordable prices, and quality hair braiders. I 10/10 do not recommend Nywele Salon. I was a customer of Nywele Salon for the past two years and was disappointed by the customer service and extortion I faced today by the owner daughter. For background knowledge: I visited the salon website and saw a retouch braids/ twist service listed as $25 per hour. I called the salon on Saturday- 8/19/23, asking for a knotless braid retouch and went in the same day for a consultation. The stylist informed me it was $65 to do two rows of braids (25 braids in total), provided I bring hair, which will be done in an hour or so. So I schedule an appointment for the following Wednesday - 8/23/23. My appointment was at 4:30 p.m., I arrived at 4:20 pm but the stylist did not arrive till 4:37 p.m., nor was I contacted beforehand of the delay. Upon her arrival, the stylist informed me it would be $5 per braid or $65 an hour. I was shocked, and being that I have an event tomorrow, 8/24/23 I was placed into a very uncomfortable position. I reluctantly agreed and waited 2 1/2 hours for my front braids to be retouched. In total, I paid $130, and to put it in perspective, I had my braids installed less than a month ago for $180. I truly wish Nywele Salon would be upfront with their pricing as I was misled. If I was aware that it would cost $5 per braid or $65 an hour during my consultation, I would have a sought an hair stylist within my desired budget."
