"I wanted to love this beautiful salon in the neighborhood. I started seeing Alma 10/29/20 during Covid who trimmed the bleached color from my long hair again on 5/1/21 and 8/12/21. We decided to add some conservative highlights for my nephew’s wedding on 12/20/21. On 5/11/22, I discussed with her more highlights to camouflage the grays. This is when I was not satisfied with the outcome. After healing my hair, this visit and two attempted corrections on 5/16/22 that she sounded certain would work left my hair brassy and dried out. I stopped back on 5/23/22 and talked to Kurt who said he would let Alma know. I did not hear from her and thought I would give a salon in neighborhood that I wanted to support one more try. On 8/1/22, when I entered the salon and explained why I was back, Kurt said he didn’t remember and directed me to Alma who thought I should go someplace else because the Aveeda products probably don’t work for my hair. Wish she would have said something before I spent over $200! I find their response to me unprofessional that the solution is to go somewhere else…"
"Kurt and staff are all top-notch and provide the best services I’ve had including all the ones I’ve been to in the upscale neighborhoods like Gold Coast and Lincoln Park. Best of all is the sensory pleasing atmosphere Kurt creates for customers as soon as you walk in the front door. Kurt is a great listener when I want a specific cut but I consider him an image consultant and mostly just go with his vision for the next cut. I have become a regular with Araceli for a massage and she is amazing. She is very good at treating the desk syndrome I get from poor posture in front of the computer screens and of course always follows up with an action plan of best practices to improve my habits. I highly recommend!"
"This place is amazing. Best massage of my life plus the hair cut from Kurt was wonderful. He really listened to me and my wants, plus took my hair's condition and style into account. He started with an essential oil scalp rub then conditioning and a rinse before my hair cut. Felt so pampered! Bonus: on Saturdays they do mimosas and snacks for all their clients! Talk about a spa-like experience in the neighborhood."
