A native of Yulee, Florida, Dr. Coleman combines his love for sports and science to enhance the health and well-being of his patients. His journey began with a passion for sports, fueled by his own experiences as an athlete. After earning degrees from Morehouse College and Duke University School of Medicine, Dr. Coleman honed his skills in family medicine at Louisiana State University, gaining invaluable experience covering a wide range of athletic events. His dedication and skill earned him the title of Resident of the Year.
As a sports medicine fellow at the University of Alabama, Dr. Coleman served as a team physician under the mentorship of Dr. James Robinson, further solidifying his expertise in the field. His commitment to advancing sports medicine is evident through his numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at both local and national conferences.
Dr. Coleman’s deep-rooted love for his family and community inspired his return to Florida, where he now serves as the medical director at UF Health Family Medicine in Yulee and St. Marys. He is actively involved as a team physician for Yulee and West Nassau High Schools and provides care at the Nassau County correctional facility. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Coleman is a devoted husband to his wife, Shalanda, and a loving father to their four daughters.
