"Bring a camel back or 1 liter. Also bring snacks. Great place to train for mountaineering. Hard the first time, tolerable after that. This will prepare you for any of the seven peaks in terms of uphill and downhill."

"The first half hour is a test if you aren’t a regular hiker of medium to hard trails. Once you make it past that, it’s much better but NOT easy. This isn’t a casual hike. You don’t need chalk and caribiners but it is a serious hike to the very top to reach the American flagpole. It’s so high that the clouds form where you stand. Don’t be like me and hike this on a whim. Wear a hat and pack water and snacks. Once you reach the flag it’s all good but going down requires effort as well. I was judging people jogging down as i made my way up and soon got hit by karma cause on some downhill parts it’s actually more Forgiving on your feet, shins, and hips if you just jog it downhill. All in all I feel it’s worth it cause you’ll get to see some architectural digest-type views so long as you’re willing to sweat it out."

"Just amazing! As many people state the start can be a bit rough if you’re not used to the steep climb after that it gets much better. I took the loop around the valley and it was just great! Took me about 3 hours fully from start to finish. I am a novice hiker but very much enjoyed it. Once I got through the first part that at a point wasn’t sure I would make it to the top it was super well worth it. The only thing I’ve seen that dogs are not allowed yet people still take them."

"Great hike its a bit steep after the halfway mark if you go left. If you go right it's an easy steady pace. Great view of the ocean and it gets windy up top. Make sure to bring some good traction shoes or boots. Bring some water, sunblock, snacks, a sweater and a good attitude. Loved it."
