"My wife and I visited this great little church on December 30 of 2018. We live in Naples, FL and we were camping and kayaking on the Chass. Pastor Tim Pauley went above and beyond to make us feel welcome as well as his congregation, too! Strange way we happened to be there. We were playing Fussball at the local watering hole when total strangers we had met invited us to a New Year's Eve party in the neighborhood. We were told how this was a tradition and the folks that lived there invited a huge crowd and everyone brings a dish. When we commented on how generous and genuinely friendly people were in this part of the world someone said, "You should go visit First Baptist then!" What an unusual introduction to a Church! Don't ever doubt what and how God may use something or someone! I just came across the "program" (?) outlining the services on that day and it prompted me to look the Church up, and that prompted me to post here. I felt compelled to do this because, in this time of divisiveness in out country, Pastor Pauley and his congregation stand as an outstanding example of inclusiveness. They are made up of many races and backgrounds and yet they come together in God's plan, in Jesus's love and with an obvious anointing of the Holy Spirit. It came across as very sincere; that they truly care for and about each other and follow the Great Command, "Love God with all your heart and secondly, but just as crucial, love your neighbor." I have been to churches where once services were over, you would never be able to tell the folks in the parking lot just left Church by the way they treated each other as the jockied for position on their race out of the parking lot. There was a sincere and tangible feeling of connection and caring demonstrated before, during and after services. What a great community and Church family you have! May God and his resurrected and Living Son continue to Bless your leadership team, your flock and all your families and may the wind of the Holy Spirt forever course and stir within your hearts!"
