HCA Florida Blake Hospital Emergency Room

"I am giving the ER 2 stars because they got me in right away and the nurse that attended to me was excellent, knowledgeable and had a good bedside manner. That is still important. However, I was approached by a young woman who could have been 16 y.o. Turns out, she was the intern and my assigned "doctor." I wasn't given a choice to see a fully licensed physician. I asked to see the doctor and she came in and said, "maybe I wasn't clear earlier. I am the doctor." She was not thorough. She did not come in and go over my blood work with me. In fact, I was discharged and didn't even get a chance to see my blood work and ask questions. And I had several questions. I asked to have the blood work printed. There were several concerns that were not addressed by the doctor including a lung scan which showed some issues and since I went in complaining of having a hard time breathing, that was pretty important. Maybe it didn't mean anything to her, but since I'm not the expert, an explanation was in order. This was my second visit to Blake ER and I will never go back."

"My fiance is here now. She's been here about 4 hrs. We like Blake Hospital. Although the nursing staff are all great, these stars go to her nurse Ivan. He is very friendly and thorough. We are very pleased with his bed side manner and his abilities, in peticular the IV given to her went smoothly. She is a very hard 'stick'.He got it first try which is a big deal for her. Thank you Ivan. We appreciate you so much. We'll done!"

"Not happy with the barely efficient triage nurse at ER on Sunday the 21st. My grandson 12 was extremely devastated and depressed over the death of his grandmother the day before, woke up with severe toothache and asked to go to doc so must have been in severe pain. Even though my daughter explained and hoped for compassion the nurse was rude and condescending. The last thing a grieving sick kid and his Mom need. Maybe try compassion rather than ego"

"I came in for a strong bout of panic and anxiety attack, and I was immediately handled with care and professionalism. The staff was very warm and engaging. They talked with me, performed multiple tests, and made sure there were no physical issues related. I thought I would be in the ER for hours and expected the cliche waiting, non caring, and aggravation. I couldn't be more wrong. This ER is by far the best I've ever been to and would recommend it to anyone one of my family members. Medical professionals are such a blessing and HCA Florida Blake exemplifies this."

"Have been a patient in the Hospital before for knee replacement, and everybody was super nice. That's when we decided to use this ER if ever needed. Just had our first visit to the ER. We got there around 3am. The waiting room was empty but there were patients in the rooms. Check in was fast and Facilities were clean. The nurses and doctors were very nice and caring. Loved our ER doctor who had our sense of humor. We did have some wait time for CT scan. Otherwise everything went smooth. We were treated and left after 4 hours, which is pretty good for an ER visit."
