As part of the larger Cheektowaga firefighting family, our station plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents within Fire District No. 8. Our team of skilled and dedicated volunteers is always ready to respond to emergencies with professionalism and care.
Our recruitment and retention efforts are supported by the FEMA SAFER Grant program through the Walden Fire District, and we are an integral part of the JoinCheektowagaFire.com town-wide volunteer recruitment project. "Wonderful people at this department, they have assisted on a few medical calls for me in the past (sorry) as well as a carbon monoxide issue a couple winters ago. It is more than reassuring to live in a community with neighbors as devoted as these men and women and I feel at peace when I am away to know my parents (who are getting older) have this resource. They go above and beyond with their food drives, holiday parades, and October fire prevention programs, the latter being an event that was a favorite of my childhood and I still have the trophies from all the coloring contests I won to prove it :p"
"My Dad was Asst. Fire Chief in the mid 60"s to the early 70"s. Bob Frederick liked being a fireman. Know he is gone he passed away on June 5th. 2019..from cancer at the age of 79 yrs old.."
