"I left an original starter for a 1958 ford tractor for rebuild. checked on a week later and was told they were waiting for parts. Next they told they had a new Chinese replica for $175 and I would have to pay 50 dollars to them to return the original to me. The replica starters sell for about $100 dollars on ebay. When I asked for the original starter back then told they did not have it and could not return it because they sent it somewhere for a core exchange on the new Chinese starter I feel they outright stole the original starter from me to rebuild and sell because of the value of original antique parts. They are thieves and liars."

In an age of big-box store idiocacy and complete lack of knowledge, Thering's is a very welcome refuge of actual understanding, skill, and pragmatism. Unfortunately, it's one of the few remaining. They also sell farm supplies, which I know less than zero about so I can't comment on that aspect of the business, but I'd expect - based on my experiences in the motor shop - that you can't go wrong here."
