"They’re very generous with the portions and the food quality is great but a big part of a sandwich is the bread. And as someone from Brooklyn I was expecting Italian bread or fresh bread. The bread is very odd, almost subway like and processed and not toasted so soft. It’s definitely not Italian bread… I would go back if but for the bread."

"Being a Long islander you would look at a deli with a 4.5 star review and think you’re definitely gonna get a great sandwich but coming here I wasted about $11 of my money. My sandwich had one slice of each meat on it and it was as light as a feather, if you’re looking for a sandwich with barely anything on it you’ll get that here. It’s a shame it seemed to have so much potential to then receive that"

"I was in the shop yesterday and had to give recognition to the young lady behind the counter for her kindness. There was a young boy that came in and he had a pretty bad cut on his knee. The young lady behind the counter asked him if he wanted a wet paper towel and when he declined she took it upon herself to go over to him, clean up the wound and bandaid it for him. That’s not just customer service but just a nice person. I would want to give my money to a business like this that actually cares about their customers. Not to mention my sandwhich was fantastic."

"I just want to thank Hometown hero’s for coming to the rescue. We order from them all the time via Uber Eats. We did so for a day on the boat timed to arrive just as we were leaving for the boat. Something happened and the order that arrived was definitely not what we had ordered for our family and our friends who we were meeting up with. Upon calling the restaurant directly, they apologized for something that wasn’t their fault, and remade the order and sent their own staff to deliver our food within 15 minutes. Thank you again to the team at hometown for coming to the rescue."

"I’ve never had a bad meal here. Everything from the sides to the sandwiches is always top quality and the portions are huge. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Mac and cheese bites. They are off the charts with the dipping sauce. I am a sucker for the nor’easter, chicken cutlets mozzarella bacon and bbq sauce. There’s more chicken cutlet and bacon on there than two sandwiches of any other deli. This is one of my favorite delis on Long Island."
