"My son had a nerve block done by the doctor. He broke out in a rash right at the area of the block which then traveled up his back and around to his abdomen. He was given a course of steroids to take which did very little. He called the nurse to ask for a second course of steroids because in some cases it takes more. Nurse never contacted him to say they weren't going to call in additional steroids. I am a retired RN and I was given permission to speak for my son. The office personnel was rude. She said that the doctor said it wasn't from the medication in the nerve block. Marcaine can csuse a rash. I asked to speak with the doctor, she said he wasn't there,of course. I asked her why the nurse never called my son back. No answer. Asked to speak to the office manager. No answer. They should be ashamed of themselves. If he didnt think it was from the nerve block then why did he call in the first course of syeroids. It was the only thing different that my son changed from the normal. He is a diabetic and would only take steroids if absolutely necessary. He is in misery and their staff doesn't care. If the nurse did her job she would have made a call to my son to follow up with his pcp. As it stands now he will have to wait until Monday as his pcp has a half day on Fridays."
