"Took our 4 year old Grandson for his first ever EEG today. From the wonderful, friendly lady at registration, to the two great ladies that did his EEG. Everyone treated us incredibly nice, but most of all made my Grandson feel so comfortable. Just came on here to say, Thank You, you are doing a wonderful job!"
"Very poorly run office. We waited more than 6 months to see the neurologist and when we arrived, we were informed our appointment was canceled. We never received a phone call...one of the secretaries asked Dr. Sara Ali if she would see us, the doctor refused because her schedule was too busy. All of this could have been avoided if the office had simply called my very frail 79 year old mother to let her know they were cancelling her appointment. We did reschedule when we were there and my mother will now be seen in another 2 months. If she is actually seen in August, she will have been waiting 9 full months, since the previous November for that appointment. So sad that the Dr was asked to see her while she was in the office, due to their mistake, but the doctor was simply too busy. It was hard for my 79 year old mother to physically walk into to the appointment and now she doesn't want to try again...such a lack of focus on the patient."
"I am a patient of this practice, And spoke to my neurologist last week about trying Lyrica for my restless leg syndrome. She had very kindly called me back after hours and spoke to me for about ten minutes which I feel never happens. It's a holiday weekend, So we decided to wait until next week to call it in. However, I really felt I needed it this weekend after Two days of not sleeping, So I called the answering service last night. The operator told me someone would call me back, but no one ever did. Today I called and got someone named Shay who was very unfriendly and seemed like I was bothering her. She put me on hold and after 35minutes(!!) Another man picked up. He said he was sorry, She must have forgotten about me and she went to lunch! I asked him to take a message, He says he doesn't do messages, But if I wanted to call back after lunch time someone else could help me. Since this is a Neurology practice, where people have potentially life threatening mental illnesses... I'm unbelievably shocked at the Incompetence of this answering service! I just told him I give up, I'll call my neurologist on Tuesday. He showed no concern, he just said okay then. Fortunately , I like my neurologist or I would be long gone from this practice!"
"We have been going to Upstate Neurology for 8 years. Initially hoped they would be more cutting edge with access to trials, etc. for my wife's Parkinson's. Saw the Neurologist a couple of times before being transfered to a PA. Haven't seen the actual Neurologist since. Now the PA has left so they cancelled our next appointment. We had to call to reschedule but were told the Neurologist was very busy and when they found a new replacement for the PA they would call with a new appointment time. Who knows how long that may be?. Very disappointed in the attention given to as long time patient."
"My doctor put in a referral for Upstate Medical Neurology back in October. Six months later I still haven't had an appointment with them. I called in December and was told my referral was just being looked at by a nurse and that they would call me once things were approved, 3 weeks later aI called again and was told they were waiting on outstanding lab results they called my doctors office about. My doctor ended up informing me that can see my records thru my charts. I have called twice more and been told each time that the message would be passed on that I had called. This whole time their office has never called me, all phone calls have been from me to them. 6 months later and I still don't know were things are at and don't have even 1 appointment scheduled. This is unacceptable and there is no excuse for it. Clearly they don't value patients."
