"Bought a car for my 16 year old and needed a back up camera. Got me in and out in 3 hours with a great little unit that has apple carplay and a clear backup camera. I asked for the cheapest unit because it's an old car and he said he doesn't want to install something that's gonna have an issue in 6 months. I would recommend Steve and his store."

"Go to PRO AUDIO 4X4 133 W 300 S, Provo, UT 84601 it's much better. I came in to Stereo Steve's for them to fix a parasitic draw that was draining my battery. The whole extent of their testing for this parasitic draw was to keep the stereo plugged in over night and see if the battery died. After finding the battery died they said I needed a new stereo. I asked them how they knew it was the stereo and not something else and the employee just said of course it was the stereo because when it's plugged in the car died. The employee also got heated when I suggested logically it might make sense that it was something else without some other test. Although disagreeing with their logic without any other tests, I was recommended this place and I assumed they did more tests than they were telling me so I took their word for it and purchased a new stereo. A day and a half later my car died in my driveway. I made another appointment to have them look at it. I went in and explained that after they put in a new stereo it didn't fix the problem. I asked for my old stereo back since I had no need for a new one. I understand that sometimes that's not possible because they might have gotten rid of the old one. However, they refused to make it right in any way with a refund or even a discount. They said that in order for them to even see what the problem actually was that they missed that they would charge me another diagnostic fee plus whatever the original problem was! I didn't want to keep giving them money when they obviously didn't know what they were doing so I went to PRO AUDIO 4x4 in Provo and they got me in very fast with a much cheaper diagnostic fee. They actually tested the battery and different connections to see what the battery was drawing from. In 30 minutes they found that it was a rear light that was being kept on and fixed it for me. SO in summary I went in to fix one problem specifically and instead of actually taking the time to see what the actual problem was they sell me a stereo. When that doesn't fix the problem they say too bad and leave me with an expensive stereo that I didn't need without the problem ever being solved. I understand mechanics can't get everything right every time but the fact that even I could tell they were testing it wrong and brought it up and they still got didn't fix the problem is wild. If I go to a mechanic and they end up putting in a part that doesn't fix the problem they never charge me for another diagnostic fee and they often refund or discount. The fact that they weren't willing to make things right is really what got me. Really bad customer service. Go to PRO AUDIO 4X4 133 W 300 S, Provo, UT 84601 it's much better."

"Giving one extra star because they did alright with the audio in my car. My complaints however are coming from completely different places than their actual work. My first problem started when I walked in on the day of my appointment. They were talking about other clients extremely negatively in front of customers. I felt really really uneasy leaving my car with them when I finally left and for a good reason. General tip of advice, don’t talk about how much you were able to charge for labor on someone in front of other clients, also don’t throw numbers around in front of clients. To the person who’s spending 15k on the system in their truck, I’d get your truck out of there. This brings me to my second problem, I was told to bring my car in at 9 and the job would take about 3 hours. When I got there they said it would probably take a bit longer. Understandable but it didn’t take a bit longer. My car was the last car worked on that day, I couldn’t pick it up until 6. It would be fine if they would’ve just told me to bring the car in later but nope they held onto it all day for no reason leaving me immobile for the entire causing me to miss plans. This brings me to my last problem. When I picked up my car they had driven it… HARD. They must not know I have a trip computer in my car. My car had a temperature of 130, for a job that doesn’t require any driving why would my car be that hot. Thankfully they only drove it for 15 minutes but they were getting 5 miles to the gallon in that 15 minutes which makes me real nervous about that 130 temperature. They were probably driving it hard while it was cold. REGARDLESS, YOU DONT TAKE CUSTOMERS CARS FOR JOYRIDES. Awful company wouldn’t trust them at all with your vehicle"
