THE CHOCOLATE, a dessert cafe

"I would like to preface by saying that I have great respect for small businesses. My comments below are just feedback.. We come to The Chocolate later in the evening, when a lot of places are closed up (so kudos for staying open late) to have a cazookie. Cazookie is delicious, a bit pricey at $12, but what isn’t these days. Staff is always very friendly. Due to the fact that we come after dark, I have specific issues. Number one is, there is no good, lit sign. Even after coming so many times I have to look closely for the turn. Parking lot is also dark, it just looks like a random house. Number two is, I don’t know what this place looks like during the day, but after dark, it’s pretty depressing with its dingy lighting and decor that is seriously lacking. Random artwork on the walls, pretty bare set up. I don’t even go into the last room, it’s kind of creepy. This place has SO MUCH potential. Add some color, some wallpaper, comfy seating, plants… Also, half the time we come there’s no music playing. And because the rooms are so bare, every conversation echoes so you can hear what everyone is talking about. Overall, good food, good service, but please cozy up the interior."

"This place is a vibe. I love the late night chilling with deserts and great coffee. Service is always a little slow so just plan for that. But all in all it’s one of my favorite dessert joints in town. Took a picture of the menu. Cupcake emoji over workers face for the win. lol"

"I came in to get a to-go order of a slice of cake and a regular hot chocolate. When walking out I noticed the hot chocolate was extremely light and before even taking a sip, opened up the cup to find that the hot chocolate wasn’t even filled up all the way, for $6 I would expect at least a full cup. Then when I brought it back in I get a “I’m sorry usually it’s fuller than this”, so you saw how low the cup was and still gave it out then remade it when I brought it back in. So if getting a to-go drink maybe check your cup to make sure it’s full before wasting money and money. (The cake was good though)"

"food quality: 5/5 service: 5/5 cleanliness: 5/5 value: 5/5 We stopped by The Chocolate and was pleasantly surprised! This lovely dessert shop had a good variety of sweet treats. The staff was super nice and welcoming right as we walked in. The shop was a historical home converted into a bakery/restaurant and has such a fun vibe to it. Such a wonderful dessert place with some amazing choices! Can’t wait to go back soon ☺️"
