"I am a Master Technician and General Manager for a AAA automotive repair facility in Oceanside, California. My grandmother, mother, and brother live in Utah. Dave's Auto took care of my brother about 8 years ago on his Subaru and did an excellent job in rebuilding the engine, keeping me informed of progress, and getting it back on the road safely. My grandmother's vehicle was at the dealer recently and she was informed it needed an engine replacement for blown head gaskets. When I asked specific questions, I was not receiving straight answers. I called Matt at Dave's Auto and he went above and beyond for me. He was able to get the vehicle towed for me, have it diagnosed and gave me the straight answers I needed to know, so I could better advise my grandmother. "The service was good, but I was surprised at the $75 fee to move the car in from your parking lot into the bay. It seems that at the rate charged that should just be part of the job… not added on to the labor for the work, but just part of the job. It seems exorbitant. I would also have preferred the diagnosis fee to not be comprehensive but rather be just regarding the issue I brought it in for. The work performed for what I brought it in for was good so far though."
"After being told that I needed a new engine from the dealer I reached out to Dave's Auto Center and had them do an initial diagnostic. I was very pleased with their quick response to my requests and the detail reports that they provided. The photographs were really cool as well!
