Tooele Ford Service

"I brought my car in for a full year with the same problem. I was told by your expert mechanics that Ford didn't have a fix for my car and I would have call the Ford Company itself to see what they could do for me. I stressed each time I brought my car in that I didn't feel safe driving my car, yet I was told that I would have to drive it for a 1000 miles or more for it to possibly fix itself. I finally called my sales rep at Ed Kenley Ford and explained the issue I was having. He told me to bring my car to them and their expert transmission mechanics would take a look at it. They have had my car 2 days, 2 days!! Not weeks!! They are putting in a new transmission. Why Tooele Ford service department NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT, is beyond me. Ed Kenley service manager, the techs, and my sales associate were floored that you just wouldn't chane the transmission. You (Tooele Ford) told me that there was no fix. According to Ed Kenley Ford, the fix is a new transmission. That has gone across the mechanics bulletin that you have mentioned, more than once!! Your service department kept sending me home to drive a defective car that slipped gears and stalled when excellerating. I was told I was driving it wrong. I was told that there is a downshift that happens when slowing down. You talked to me like I was stupid. I know what a normal down shift is, I know how it is suppose to feel when it happens. Yet, I was told numerous times by your techs that it was normal for the downshift to be hard. It's not normal!! The downshift should be smooth not jerky or give you whiplash when it happens. It was a simple fix, 3 times in for the same issues and you change the transmission. If you couldn't do it, then tell me to go to a Ford service department that has specialist to fix it. Instead, you let me drive the car for a full year like that. I trusted you! I trusted you knew what you were doing!!! Boy, was I wrong!! We will never again take any of our vehicles to your service department, never again. Because of you, I could have injured someone a loved one, or even myself!! Hopefully, you tell the other customers who are having the same issue that they need a new transmission and you either put it in for them or refer them to a Ford Service center that has expert transmission mechanics."

"*Update* After initially having a poor experience, I need to revise my review. After an oil change, I called and complained that I was overcharged. The advisor calmly explained that the price was correct. I was not pleased! A few hours later, the service manager called me. After my complaint, they had found an issue, a simple clerical error. It was corrected and they made it right. I was wrong, it is nice to see integrity in a business, and I am now a loyal customer. Highly recommend!"

"I have had the misfortune of having my car requiring service from a dealership twice, and both times it was an absolute disaster, with the second instance still an ongoing issue that has had my car be parked for over 6 weeks. They fail at basic communication skills, deceive and hide costs that somehow appear later, take weeks to do a repair that they quote should take a few days, and do not stand by their work. I have had to remind them that they have my car, and what repairs they are claiming to do. Avoid as you can."

"Waited almost 3 hours for an oil change and air filters to be completed. Was quoted $15 dollars for each air filtter. My bill came out to 225? They ended up charging me about $30 per each filter and almost $80 dollars in coolant ( they didn't even ask about the coolant they just filled it, I would have absolutely said no to this). When the advisor came out to explain everything he briefly went over the air filtters and said the coolant needs to be topped of so we will go ahead and take care of that nothing about an $80 dollar charge. There online oil change information says they will top of all fluids no where does it say that excludes coolant. Called to talk to a manager the phone just rang and rang. Finally got ahold of the front desk and they said they will pass this along to the service manager. I'm beyond up set."
