"Chain dental offices are like chain restaurants—mediocre at best. And when they’re bad, they’re really bad. I went in last July because my regular dentist was out of town and I had an old filling chip. I was heading out of the country and wanted to take care of it before I left. After some previous not-so-great experiences at the Lehi location, I was wary but it was my only option as all the private offices were booked. I told the dentist (who was obviously fresh out of school) that I was a little hard to numb. My regular dentist either gives me a different numbing agent or just a little extra of the normal stuff. So she acknowledged, gave me a dose and…I felt everything. She gave me another dose and same thing—I felt everything. “Oh, you really are hard to numb.” So then she gave me a different numbing agent. Again—I felt everything. By the 7th+ shot I was on the edge of a full-blown panic attack because I was heavily numbed on my whole left side of my face but still felt my tooth being worked on. She said she wanted to try something else and I told her if it didn’t work, we were going to have to stop. She moved to the front of my mouth to numb a different area and lo and behold…I felt less. SHE WAS NUMBING THE WRONG AREA THE WHOLE TIME. The back few teeth, gums, and cheek hurt for half my trip to Europe, my tooth that was worked on is still sensitive over a half year later, and I developed sudden dry mouth soon after that. I also had my cheek swell twice randomly soon after. I’ve had a range of medical tests done to test for everything else that could’ve caused the last two issues, but later on I realized that it was probably whatever she did. Maybe she destroyed a salivary gland in giving me around 10 shots in the same area? I’m not sure but I’ll never be back and will be reporting my experience to the state."

"I am sad to even be having to leave this review as I have loved Stonehaven Dental and have been a patient for quite awhile but sadly, things have gone down hill. Dr. Angela, Dr. Irene and Tonya the office manager are fabulous but the rest of the staff are hard to work with. They do the majority of their scheduling through a call center and they have never once scheduled my appointments correctly. I will schedule cleanings months in advance and the week of my appointment, get a call stating they need to change it due to being scheduled wrong. I went in last week for a routine teeth cleaning, arrived 45 minutes early because I was told my appointment was at one time when really it was later than what I was told. When my appointment was over with, the hygienest who was incredibly rude the entire appointment told me that they failed to mention when I checked in that my insurance was not going to cover my cleaning and that I needed to pay upfront for it. I told her that made absolutely no sense as I have one of the best insurances and they cover 2 cleanings a year and this was my first one. It has seemed that over the years they have lost the customer service touch and are all about money. We will not be back."

"Dr. Irene is the best! She goes the extra mile in caring for her patients. She takes time in explaining what she is about to do, checks to ensure you’re properly numb, and the list goes on. There is nobody better. The dental assistants are wonderful as well. Top notch!"
