"I am on my second class here at Sew Vintage. I feel very lucky to have found this place! I have been looking for anywhere to learn pattern making for over a decade and they have it here! The store interior is fresh, modern and fun. Staff is smart and easy to talk to and work with. And I am learning a ton! It is filling in all of my sewing questions I have had for years. They also rent all kinds of formals and vintage clothing. I would totally recommend this place to anyone!"

"Absolutely amazing place!!!! They were able to take in mine and my fiance's wedding dress a month before the wedding and get them altered to us. Only took them two weeks and their pricing was super affordable and honestly surprised how little it costs us. They are incredibly friendly and super cooperative when working on clothes to fit you. If I ever need anything fixed or altered again I will definitely go here again. 10/10 recommend to everyone!"

"I had purchased some vintage fabric on a trip to England with the intent to sew a waistcost (a regency vest). I had never sewn before (except for that one class in middle school where you sew a poorly constructed pillow). I came by the shop and talked to the owner (Kirsten) and she assured me that I could learn how to sew quickly with her class. I took a 3 day class and learned all about how to use a sewing maching, how to read a pattern, and how to cut out fabric pieces. I showed her my pattern I had purchased on Etsy and she said that although it was very technical, but she had experience in all the techniques. I spent those 3 days slowly sewing a waistcoat out of muslin (cheaper fabric) and was pretty happy with the results when I was finished. I missed a few pieces and my welt pockets were lopsided, but I had learned enough to feel confident in my abilities to put scissors to vintage fabric. I had only enough fabric for one waist coat with no waste (pun intended!). She helped me efficiently cut out the pattern and answered all my questions along the way. She was always excited to show me new techniques from getting sharper corners to knowing when to baste stitch. I opted to pay for studio time since I did not have the proper tools or machines at home. In less than one month, I created my waist coat and did a second one! I know how to use most of the settings on a sewing machine and can easily run out of thread during a stitch, rethread the bobbin, rethread the machine, and continue sewing without a problem. I have learned how to do interfacing, buttons, hand sewing, baste stitching, straight and zig zag stitching, eyelets, how to create my own pattern, and how to create welt pockets (which I am told are extremely difficult because you only have one chance to do them right, otherwise you have to start over). I am so enthused by my new ability that Kirsten has taught me that I now want to find more fabric to sew a full coat. If you have ever wanted to learn how to sew or need alterations done to a dress or suit you own, this is where you want to go. her prices are on par or less than other shops and she has the experience for any job. Don't let the amount of dresses in the window fool you. She knows a lot about men's clothing too."

"Wonderful! My 17 year old daughter rented an absolutely gorgeous dress for a school dance and my 10 year old daughter has been taking sewing lessons here. In her first set of classes she made a beanie hat, cute bunny pillow and a zippered cloth bag. Kirsten is an excellent teacher and is so knowledgeable about sewing. She also has curated such a lovely set of vintage dresses — there’s everything suitable for Sunday brunch to date night to a formal occasion. We will definitely be back. Thanks!"

"Fabulous environment, quality fabrics, supplies, and instruction. My 13 year old son, 10 year old daughter, and myself have all taken classes here with Kirsten and loved it! I liked the variety of classes and the options within projects. I highly recommend Sew Vintage to anyone looking to learn how to sew, from the basics to advanced techniques it's a one stop shop right here. And there's gorgeous dresses to rent for everyone else."
