"Disappointing service. Serious lack of communication among their team members and with customers. Incompetent staff. The back glass was broken on my iphone and I took it to Mile High Phone Repair to get it fixed. I originally took it on a Sunday and they informed me that it would take 24 hours to complete the repair. As I had work on Monday and needed my phone, I decided to wait until the next weekend. I came the next weekend on a Saturday evening to drop off my phone and was informed that they didn’t have the part and that it would need to be ordered. This was not originally shared with me when I had come the week before. I decided to order the part, which meant I would have to wait another week before actually getting the repair done. I paid the $100 deposit and double-checked with them that I would be able to drop it off Friday afternoon and pick it up Saturday evening, they confirmed. The next weekend, I showed up on Friday at 5pm and handed over my phone. I said, “So that’s it? And we’ll come back tomorrow evening?” And the guy said yes, so we left. The next day at around 11, they called my partner (since I didn’t have my phone) saying we never signed a waiver and that they couldn’t start the repair until we did. Why wouldn’t they have us do this when we dropped the phone the evening prior? Incompetence. It was snowing that morning and my partner had our 2 kids with him and he drove all the way out there from northeast Denver to sign the waiver. They offered $50 off the original price for their error (inconvenience) . He asked if they would still be able to finish the repair by that evening and they said it was “definitely possible.” Without a definitive answer, my husband drove back to the mall at 6pm and checked back in with them and they said they hadn’t even started. They said their tech guy wasn’t able to drive over to get the phone to start the repair. And yet my partner was able to drive to the mall twice that day with 2 children. If their tech guy wasn’t able to drive over that day, they should have informed us much earlier. They said we could either leave the phone and they’d finish the repair by the next evening (another 24 hours) or that we could just take the phone and do the repair the next weekend. We decided to leave the phone overnight because it had already been two weeks and we didn’t want to wait another week to complete this repair, especially having small children and not wanting them to be around shards of glass. At this point, I needed to rearrange my schedule for Sunday morning as I’d scheduled a few work meetings, but on Sunday morning, without my phone this became a tedious process of connecting over email. They called on Sunday afternoon to let us know the repair was complete and upon my arrival, I asked if they’d be offering any other discount for it taking 48 hours instead of the original 24 they claimed. The guy gave me $15 off. I thought this was in addition to the $50 discount they were supposed to have already taken off. It was not. I shouldn’t have assumed he would automatically take it off. I left and then realized the mistake and went back. The guy wasn’t aware that my partner was told he’d get $50 off, and had to call someone to verify. The someone verified it and he tried to give me just $30 in cash to make up the difference. I asked him to do his calculation again and he settled on $35. He said he couldn’t do anything about it taking twice as long, though, even though I was told 24 hours and planned on that 24. He kept putting it on the tech guy who couldn’t drive in the snow, even though my partner made it to the mall twice that day. I always give people the benefit of the doubt at the beginning, but Mile High Phone Repair does not deserve it."
