"I recently had the pleasure to take Jonathan Baths conceal and carry class with my 14 year old son. For us it was about education. I unfortunately lost many friends to columbine, that was my class. I wanted my son well versed and educated on every scenario possible for safety with firearms, his rights and the law. It’s critical to his safety. In my opinion, knowledge is power, and might give my son a split second advantage in bad situation. Can he conceal and carry, no. Does he have a gun… he’ll no. However, does he know all the laws, their safety, legality, how to be a smart and aware citizen, For that, I can’t thank Jonathan enough. Our schools can only do so much, and police have strategic plans but it only goes so far and does so much. It truly comes down to us as parents to take the initiative and say I want my child to be prepared. As uncomfortable as it might be, and taboo a topic for kids, education for the worst case scenario, god forbid should it ever happen, is a real life scenario we see day in and out. I don’t like it anymore then then next parent. I wish this was something that I didn’t need to think about for him, but I also refuse to bury my head in the sand, and potentially bury him by doing that. At least I know, my son now has respect for a deadly weapon. How to properly treat it, use it, and every law and issue that comes with it. Some people would say I am promoting guns to a child. No. Guns have already been promoted to him. They are already out there. I can’t stop that. I am just filling in the huge gap, and the sheer lack of education, that hasn’t been provided along side them. I am ensuring if he does come in contact with a gun he respects it, knows what it can and will do. How to properly use it, treat it with the utmost respect it deserves, and come away with the best possible outcome to himself and hopefully anyone else involved should be ever encounter one. That to me as a parent, is invaluable. Jonathan, is an amazing teacher, he will keep you engaged, and make what sounds like a long class feel entertaining and short. He even kept my teen smiling and engaged robbing him of his precious Saturday. I can’t recommend this class enough for literally anyone. Event if you don’t want to carry a gun. The information alone could save your life. Do it, you won’t regret it, I promise."
