Qube Hotel

"My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel roughly 3 weeks ago and it was a great stay! It is located in Polk City which is a nice, quiet suburb with a great community. The hotel itself is tucked in a really nice neighborhood surrounded by houses so you have zero worries about your personal belongings and safety. The hotel is on the smaller side, which we enjoyed, less complications and other people to deal with. It was clean, friendly and quiet. The staff was great and handled anything we needed. The rooms were clean and the ammenities they supplied was perfect. The location is perfect too, even though you are outside Ankeny and on the north side of Des Moines, we could leave the hotel and be in downtown Des Moines within 30 min. From the hotel to the Airport only took us 40 min. You can leave the hotel and get to anywhere you need to be around the Des Moines area within an hour easy. Was a great hotel and a great stay!"

"The owner is very unprofessional. We got concerned because he charged our credit card the full amount 6 hours before we ever checked in. I called to figure out why and he said he does that so he can cancel peoples reservations incase they don't have the money to stay. The confirmation email clearly stated that the card would not be charged until check in. When I told him about what his confirmation email said he then canceled our reservation and said he didn't have to deal with that. Even though my only response what bring up what his own confirmation email said. We were there for a wedding and it's basically the only hotel nearby. There are bugs everywhere. This is a bad hotel in many ways. I will say that being right next to the golf course was nice but that's the only nice thing."

"BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES AND NOT CHILD FRIENDLY! Booked through Orbitz for one price. Got to hotel and asked to sign recipt. At the time I didn't realize the price was different. Looked when i got home and it was about a $12 difference. Contacted orbitz and they said it was a cleaning fee. Odd because there was an addional $15 fee which is also a cleaning fee. We had 2 boys, which was on reservation, but I think this guy just doesn't like kids. We had other family staying there so 7 boys under 6. They were not being super crazy. One family member said he was charged bc his kid had an accident in the bed! Owner refused to give receipt as well. Working with Discover to dispute charges. Really sad since the hotel was actually very nice and comfortable. They just have hidden fees for having children. If you don't like children, then don't allow them to be there. My boys made zero messes!"

"Beautiful room. The bed was very comfortable. Terrible lighting over the sink mirror. Very difficult to put on makeup. Where the smoke detector should be there were wires out of the ceiling, no smoke detector. We will stay there again, but the smoke detector was a big deal."

"Unfortunately for this hotel they get another one star review. We had a double queen room with one bed containing someone else's blood. No workers were there at the time of us going to bed so we couldn't get new sheets. The next morning I showed the owner the photo I took, he looked at it then said he would check it out and walked away. I ended up calling to confront the situation again. He "lost" my call (now I see many reviews of this hotel hanging up on people...) but he did call me back just to say there was nothing on the sheets in my room. Even though, I showed a timestamped photo proving other wise. So I never received an apology or even a discount for the room when I only had one bed out of my two to use. Also the breakfast has not enough food out to feed every guest. Lastly, I know many people who stayed there that night in multiple different rooms. We ALL were able to share a bad experience from our stay. That speaks volumes. Stay else where."
