"I had both my eye exam here and got new frames. This clinic is very legit. The medical side is large with both optometrists and eye surgeons, and it runs like a well-oiled machine. All the people I dealt with were very knowledgeable and nice. I also got new glasses at the shop. They had a pretty good selection of many different brands. They took my eye insurance plan which was nice. I was used to going to lenscrafters but this was a better experience."

"Des Moines Eye Surgeons and Eye Designs Optical are two completely different business. My mother's UnitedHealthcare's vision insurance is powered by the Spectera Eyecare Network. UnitedHealthcare owns and operates the Spectera Eyecare Network. She receives a total credit of $300 toward her purchase of frames / lenses. We tried to use this at Eye Designs Optical. We were told they don't accept it. They advice us to call her insurance. They said that we would have to purchase from them and that her insurance might reimburse her. Well I'm glad we didn't do a premature decision. Thanks to them, we called her insurance and found out they were not part of her network. We ended up going to Target Optical. My mother got name brand frames and bifocal lenses and was able to use her $300 credit! Even though we wanted to do our business at Eye Designs. We have to do what's best. Thank you for your honesty. However she still goes to Des Moines Eye Surgeons for her prescription."

"Eye designs is located inside the Des Moines Eye Surgeons on Westown Pkwy. You go in the building and it is the first shop on the left. They take the usual insurance and the turn around time on glasses is reasonable. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful in finding just the right pair of glasses. They know exactly what will fit your face and yet meet your optical needs, and have so many stylish designer frames to choose from! I liked several! I’ve been there for my last three pair of glasses and highly recommend! They are open Saturday mornings which works well when I need to run in to get an adjustment."
