"Road leading up is slightly sketchy, but it wasn’t an issue in a small 2wd SUV. You must go slow! Low ground clearance rental? Probably not for you. Coffee was excellent. Desmond facilitated our tasting and couldn’t have been more hospitable and knowledgeable about everything. This was well worth the drive up! Thanks!"

"It was nice to see a 5 acre certified organic coffee farm. Especially because growing healthy coffee is extremely difficult without some chemical involvement. I was also glad to see a real, family run coffee farm. They wash, ferment, dry, and roast their own coffee. Again, rather unusual. They use an air roasting process. Note, you really do not see any of what I described. You see a garage not up to FDA standards, and we just talked about their farm. Due to some new rules on that road, they are not allowed to give farm tours so you end up traveling to the top of a road that is one lane wide but traffic both ways to simply taste the coffee and to pay a slightly over price for their coffee. It was good coffee, but in my rating, it was not exceptional."

"Fantastic experience at the Rooster Farm Coffee Co. After a beautiful drive up a winding road through coffee farms, we arrived at the Rooster farm and were greeted promptly by the owner. Enjoyed samples of the coffee along with a very informative presentation. Would highly recommend this very authentic experience while on the Big Island."

"Best dark roast I ever had. It is pretty rough terrain getting to the farm. You will need 4x4. We didn’t and it took long time with rain. But it was worth the drive. Best dark roast and medium roast."

"Rooster farms is absolutely amazing! My personal experience says this is in fact the best coffee on the island hands down. The road up is a little rough but don’t worry you are definitely heading in the right direction. The tour and coffee tasting is spot on. If you are on the island at the very least, pick up coffee before you head back home. You can thank me later."
