"I entered into a contract with Excel builders to add a bathroom to an existing unfinished space. I informed them multiple times over the course of 5 or 6 meetings that it was a tricky project and a prior contractor had already failed because his design did not meet MPLS building codes. Excel assured me over and over again that they understood and promised that their final product WOULD meet code. After spending many hours meeting with them, visiting plumbing showrooms, discussing the project in great detail, they suddenly informed me that they had relied on their memory of the code rather than verifying it and that their design would not work. Luckily, they returned our down payment but they kept their design fee even though their design didn’t meet code. They also did not repair a window frame that they took apart even though they said they would."

"We used Excel Builders to remodel our master bath. An office, master closet, and small master bath were converted to a large master bath and closet. Excel has a great team that is easy to work with and produces high quality work. Their designer translated our vision into a great design that we remain thrilled with to this day. Like all remodels, we ran into some issues. Trent and his team resolved every issue professionally. There was no need for discussion, every issue that arose was addressed and fixed. We are thrilled with our new master suite and can't imagine living here without it. Would we use Excel again? In fact, we did. New tile floor in a full bath and a new tile floor, custom cabinets, and granite countertops in the laundry room."

We received daily updates from Trent or one of the project managers so that we knew exactly what work was going to be done on what day. Whenever we had a question or problem, they responded very quickly via phone and email. They even arranged their project schedule to do the really messy work while we were on vacation. Basically, it seems like it's easy to find a contractor to provide you with quality work. Excel Builders backed up the quality work with excellent customer service."
