"Gutless weasel! After Orthopedic Surgery on my lower leg (Shin bone was sna;;ed in half in a car accident requiring 7 screws and a titanium plate) I hjad to first see my Primary Care Physician to get referralf to another Surgeon to fi8x a severly broken left index finger, pain management, and a dermatologist. Upon release from the Post-accute Care Facility I was given a 10 day supply of 30MG Oxycodone 4 x daily and 15MG Oxycodone 3x daily for breakthrough pain relief (this was a step down of approx. 25% ) that I had been taking for a month. By this time I had developed a phbysical dependance on these opioid medications and this was the 10th day after my release so I was going to run out that evening. Well, after we talked Dr. Van Helder said he'd go set up the referrals and write me prescriptions. 15 Min. later the nurse came in with a prescription for 12 Darvocet, one per day for 12 days. I informed here that this wouidn't begin to affect any pain relief let alone keep me from going through Opioid withdrawls. So I told her I needed to talk to the Dr. HAHA, that weasel wrote the Rx knowing my reaction and left for lunch leaving the nurse to deal with the fallout. What a kind and professional way to handle thjings, huh? A man with any kind of ethics would have told me he wasn't going to write me a Rx for real pain meds and he also would have suggested I call the Surgeon that had taken care of my pain management post-surgery - not this guy: he just took the unprofessional and gutless approach. After waiting for this appointment (he consistently overbooks and gopt to me 1 1/2 hours late) he just toosed me to the wolves and left his employee to handle what he didn't have the stomach for. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS CLINIC!!!"
