Phoenix Children’s Urgent Care 6321 South Ellsworth Road, Mesa, AZ 85212

"We just spent over 2 hours for Dr. Bouvier to tell me my daughter she has a virus and asthma - which was discussed early on in the appointment. The Dr. left and we waited about 20 minutes for the nurse to come to give her albuterol. The nurse was very friendly, but mentioned that the albuterol wouldn’t help if the cough and tightness was around her throat - my daughter explained that that’s exactly where the tightness was, but the nurse followed the doctors orders mentioning some crackling in the lower lungs. They both mentioned that she was NOT wheezing but kept with the asthma diagnosis. They also both mentioned allergies as well. I can’t believe this appointment took so long. Our aftercare instructions note that this location is an emergency room even though it is listed as an urgent care. I am curious as to how this will be billed. Our aftercare instructions also note that she was given a one time steroid - which she was NOT given. We were told in the beginning of the appointment that she would be given an antibiotic, but the doctor almost forget to send it in until I mentioned it to the nurse on the way out. We frequently use urgent cares because they’re convenient to get into. I’ve never had an appointment last this long. Anywhere else, it would have been a check, the diagnosis, and we would be on our way. Super disappointed in this experience, it just felt like it was dragging on for no reason."

"The tenured doctor dr bowman gave my daughter the wrong prescription and has no idea about sports injuries at a sports complex. Beware only to to this location if you have a sniffle. They will also triple charge you!!!!!!"

"We live close to this Urgent Care and I didn’t even know it until today! What a blessing. The entire staff this evening was beyond helpful and kind! Dr. McConahay went above and beyond for us- and I’m just so thankful I found out this was close to home! Thank you!"

"The visits themselves were adequate however we got billed for not one, but TWO providers that we never saw or interacted with. Seems like they overbill then offer you 50% discount to make it seem like you're getting a deal. Will be reaching out soon to clinic and insurance company to see if we can't get this resolved. update: link sent by owner leads to no response. Will be following up with insurance company to let them know of fraudulent charges being filed. final update: still upset about being charged by providers we never saw but it doesn't look like it will be resolved. In the future will be seeking different clinic for our emergency care. Thank you for taking care of the family."

"Not only are they charging us for providers we never saw or spoke to, they won't answer emails, they charge you with specific dollar amounts they say are not elidable for a discount. Why charge me $490 when they know anything over $500 is eligible for a 50% discount!? I feel like that is a major scam. Phoenix Children's, don't both reply with a phone number or email to reach out to, you don't answer or respond any way. If you really want to resolve this, you can reach out to me. (But the chance that happens is slim to none). Chose a different urgent care people!"
