"I moved into Oasis in the City 2 years ago and I love it here! When you walk into the grounds you will immediately feel at peace among the citrus trees, lawn and shade. A very rare find in the middle of Phoenix! The apartment is a perfect size for me as a single person with a dog, and the complex is very dog friendly! We even have two neighbors with friendly cats that get walked on a leash here. I chat to my neighbors daily. I even dropped my credit card once on the grounds and one of my neighbors slipped it under my door. In winter the trees are abundant with grapefruit, tangelos, oranges and lemons. I was surprised to read another tenants review about nothing getting fixed. I have always found management to be very efficient. Obviously I don't expect them to run right over if its something small like my front door light bulb that needs changing. But when I had a very leaky tap and lots of water was being wasted, they came over faster. I had a kitchen draw fixed, leaking toilet and faucet fixed, air filters changed and even my bath resurfaced. Ben warned me upfront the bath resurfacing would only get done in 2 months time and I would need to vacate the apartment for a couple of days while the work was done and the paint dried. I was fine waiting as it was only cosmetic and not a priority. At least he warned me upfront and true to his word, 2 months later it was done. Once, when I left for vacation and couldn't remember if I turned my hair straightener off, I texted him and he went into my apartment to check for me! Also, the complex is dead quiet in the evenings. Seriously, come over one night and see for yourself! The pool and grill is great too. I often use the grill at the pool to keep food smells out my apartment. This truly is an "Oasis" in the city!"

"Looking for Apartments? Come across OASIS IN THE CITY? Keep looking, don't rent here. I have lived here for five years. The manager Ben, is not qualified for his position. He is rude, condescending, and arrogant for having little knowledge of anything. Everything is always broken here, takes months to fix, and breaks again because he does not know any trade; he can not plumb, balance the ph of a pool, fix an air conditioner, resurface a tub, or complete any other slue of tasks he is paid to handle, although he continues to play "mr. fix-it," as opposed to hiring out the jobs to qualified professionals. Things are done haphazardly here to save money, because that's the bottom line. Tenants went without washing machines (there are 6 for all the units and 4 were down for eight months) for an incredible amount of time, 4 months short of a year, because they waited for parts to fix their old, broken down, janky machines instead of replacing them like they should have. They are charging prices that new buildings around this area are charging to rent with washing and drying machines in unit. The only nice thing around here is the grass and trees in the courtyard, but even then, you have to watch Ben flounder about the grounds all day looking busy but accomplishing nothing. A huge beautiful tree fell over and hit the other side of the building a few months ago and nothing has been done to repair the building, just the removal of the tree. If cared for and trimmed properly, the tree probably would have never gotten blown over, but that's besides the point. The building still has a huge chunk out of it and not one move has been made to repair any of the damage. Many apartments are vacant here, when they used to be full, and many more are becoming vacant because of the price gouging for little to no amenities and also the tyrannical manager who seems to care more about your personal business than his business of running this apartment complex. BOTTOM LINE: SKIP OASIS, SKIP THE HEADACHE AND REGRET. Brought to you by your friendly, neighborhood vigilante."

"A friend lives here and I went to visit him. The general public area and grounds were clean and well maintained."

"I lived here for about 8 months. Only left because I got a literal dream job in Ogden. Me and my wife cried when we left because we loved it so much here. Things to consider: The apartments really tend to be humid. Buying a dehumidifier, as well as making sure to spend 10-20 minutes a day with the windows and doors open is very necessary. The back walls will form condensation in the winter, and if you aren't careful, you can get mold. Me and my wife caught some growing in the closet as well. Neither case got to the point where damage was done to the walls, but both did get to the point where we developed hay fever like symptoms. Avoiding the mold is easy once you realize where it comes from (humidity, plus condensation on walls and windows) but it's not exactly an intuitive problem to deal with in AZ. Maintenance is kind of hit or miss, with a tendency towards hitting. We had a bathroom door that was made from uncured wood, and it just wouldn't close all the way. We requested that it get replaced in the first month of living there, and it still hadn't when we moved out, although it had cured enough to fit mostly well. The biggest win we got is that we requested permission to change some ceiling fluorescents into LED's ourselves, and they just came in and did it. That was exceptional, and deeply appreciated. Air filters and the general building HVAC were also regularly maintained and worked extremely well. Our power bill was around 60-90 dollars a month, and our space always felt extremely comfortable to live in. I've paid power bills around double that most of my life and still felt less comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. The apartments are beautiful, if a little dated, and are offered at prices that are far below their value. And yet, for all of those, the best part of the complex is something that most places don't really manage: The neighbors. I've lived in a lot of places, but I genuinely hadn't found a complex where the residents had a genuine sense of commitment to the uplifting of the community and the keeping of the grounds before I moved here. People took pride in helping each other, and in keeping the areas that they lived in beautiful. The owner's small citrus grove is only half the oasis, the other half is the incredible amount of small gardens grown on residents porches. I am acknowledging that the place isn't perfect, but I am still giving them five stars because they completed the extra credit. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking."

"I love Oasis, since I moved in I've had nothing but pleasant experiences and quick turn around for anything I've asked for! This place is a hidden gem in the Uptown area. The beautiful courtyard and fruit trees make this place really special, especially in the desert."
