"01/06/2003- Friendly, professional, & informative staff. My provider is very attentive, takes the time to go through options & ensures I understand everything, is sympathetic to my suffering & I really believe she wants to help me. I'm very happy with AZ Pain Doctors & would highly recommend them to anyone who's in need of such services. NOTE: I've seen a couple of patients deeply unhappy w/the front desk to the point of yelling & arm waving @ the woman there. This was – awfully childish behavior on the part of the patient & speaker-on-behalf of the patient – NOT the fault of AZ Pain, nor because the front desk was being rude (in fact, she remained extremely calm, polite, & highly professional throughout the entire incidents, explaining & then re-explaining why the patients just couldn't be seen), or anything she was inherently doing wrong. The patients simply couldn't be treated because of insurance issues; they were in pain & needed medication, yes, but their insurance did not allow for the appts. The facility COULD NOT LEGALLY treat them, & it had nothing to do w/whether they WANTED to treat them or if AZ Pain staff lacked in sympathy. Now, I haven't seen any ratings on this business yet... I'm rating from a prompt from my email, so I've never googled them. I don't know how many good or bad reviews they have. But I do know that when someone can't get what they want, for example: treatment & pain meds, then that angry (& yes, suffering) person occasionally leaves one of those, "Rude staff, doesn't care about patients in pain," etc. reviews. I just felt the responsibility to notate what I've witnessed. And let me just say that if those patients weren't willing to pay out of pocket (they weren't, or maybe couldn't), then insurance was the only other option. Remember, this place is still a business & still needs to be paid, otherwise it shuts down & all of its patients are SOL. Including me... which I'm willing to admit that I'm selfishly not okay with (I'm in pain, I love this biz, I want to continue going there, I don't want them to charity themselves into bankruptcy, forcing me somewhere else), so I saw NO problem w/them refusing service to those 2 individuals who wouldn't (personally or through insurance) pay. AZ Pain Doctors is a very GOOD business, w/very professional staff all around. They ARE caring, & informative, & willing to help out in whatever way they can in order to make sure your pain mgt needs are met – but you still have to do your part. I've had no issues w/them myself, I've made sure I follow their instructions (for example: if a long enough period of time has passed in-between visits, they'll have told me @ my last appt that I'll need a new referral from my referring dr, so I do just that: call my dr & ask for a new referral a week before my next appt w/AZ Pain. Then, when I show up @ my next appt, I don't have any issues w/my insurance & my appt goes on as normal), they are almost always on time (hey, sometimes medical facilities run late. It just happens. I've worked for a dozen diff med facilities & know exactly how that happens & it's NEVER the facility's fault – I have stories!), & I'm in & out & happy that I have all the info I need to go on & try to manage my pain. NOTE (yet again): this is not the place to opiate shop. On my 1ˢᵗ appt the very 1ˢᵗ thing I said to my provider was, "I'm a former addict so I refuse to take any opiates." And she said, "Good, because I don't prescribe them." So yeah, if you've gotten this far, AZ Pain Doctors is a great place & I very highly recommend it for anyone's pain mgt needs."
