Zia Records (Thunderbird - North Phoenix)

"My husband and I have been long time Zia customers, especially at this location on Thunderbird in North Phoenix. We have always had an overall positive experience with the buying aspect, finding the unexpected, and our encounters with the staff. However, we recently took items in to sell for the first time and we had an extremely disappointing experience. Everything that we brought in was brand new and like new with tags, still in the box, still in cellophane wrap, etc. All of my items were well cared for and kept in storage totes and came from a non smoking environment. My husband waited 2 to 2+ hours for them to process everything and the offer was absolutely terrible to be honest: $27.01 cash offer. I am not sure what you guys are using for your metrics and to determine prices per item, but it greatly needs improvement so you can offer customers realistic and fair prices for their items and also do so in a timely and prompt manner. To offer customers such lowball offer amounts is insulting to be honest with you, especially when times are tough and when you wait this length of time to receive your offer. In the end, I am still giving you guys 4 out of 5 stars because the overall experience in your store is positive. We have found awesome finds and there is not something like this everywhere. However, you lost a star because the selling aspect was awful and needs work. To conclude, great place to go and find the unexpected, find your favorites, add to your collection, replace something, etc. However, I would avoid selling here and I would go elsewhere or consider listing your things for sale on EBay or Craigslist to get more money."

"Friendly staff very interesting and unique inventory. They sell both new and used albums, books, collectibles, clothing, games, jewelry, and much more. I've been frequenting Zia for over 2 decades now. I would have given it 5 stars except when I bring records in to sell/trade I am usually disappointed in the offers made for cash trade so I opt for the store credit instead."

"The staff is all pretty laid back and friendly. Definitely always ready and willing to help or answer questions. I forgot about all the great items they carry. It's like paradise stepping inside this location. Great music selections to choose from as well as a really great collection of books and more. I love the variety and also the option to choose which way I want to purchase music, be it c.d's or records and the necessary equipment to play it all on. Truly makes for great shopping and better listening. The options are endless. I could spend hours there daily and still find something new I love each day."

"This was my first time here and I spent $50. Its a cool store plus the prices are great. At the checkout the worker asked if I wanted to buy a bag for 25 cents. I had a lot to carry, so I said yes, but the bag he sold me did not have handles. At the cost of this convenience, my experience was not. I held my items the same way - with or without the bag. Had I known it wouldn't have handles, I wouldn't have purchased. Nice money grab, Zia."

"This Zia Records has a lot to offer! They have a wide variety of collectibles you can choose from. Whether your into Vinyl Records, vintage video games, comic books, Cd,s DVDs, Cassette Tapes, Comic books, books or even action figures! The one thing I’m not a fan of is the organization. It seems very chaotic especially their toy section. It was kind of thrown in different parts of the store. Overall it was still an amazing place if you are looking for rare collectibles. We definitely will be back. Thanks!"
