Jiffy Lube

"After seeing some smoke coming from the tail pipe of my wife's car, I went in and asked the folks at this Jiffy Lube if they would refer my car to a mechanic--I was about to leave on a business trip and didn't have time to get it to my normal mechanic. It isn't their fault that their employees don't know much of anything about cars, but I was told that the issue was easily fixed with an oil change and that I was good for another 7000 miles--shame on me for listening to them. After the oil change the problem got significantly worse almost immediately. I took it to my regular mechanic and he said only a moron would have looked at the car and thought an oil change alone would help--he had to completely drain and flush the system along with some other work that could have been avoided if I had brought it to him first. I've been going to him for years, and I think he is right. The worst part of my experience, was dealing with this locations manager. He was both dismissive and condescending--he even called my regular mechanic and then lied to me about the conversation they had as if my regular mechanic wouldn't call me up immediately to tell me about it! The moral of this story is stay away from all Jiffy Lube's and other places like them unless you really have no alternative and you are certain that an oil change is all that your car needs. You're playing Russian roulette with your car and I eventually lost. If the lying manager of the store reads this, I hope he posts a response since it will likely only help prove my point. I have been sure to forward my experience onto Jiffy Lube corporate management, though I doubt it will make much of a difference since their standards are clearly lacking."

"Super fast service without needing an appointment. I've only been here twice, but both times were super fast. In August, I needed an oil change. I don't think I was there more than 15 minutes. In that time they cleaned all my windows, refilled the fluids, corrected the air pressure in my tires, and even hooked me up with a coupon for a free carwash locally. Last week, I had my battery replaced. Again, I was in and out in no time."
