"VERY disappointed! Called the Caldwell store last week to verify the availability of a flatbed trailer to take to Portland to pick up palletized machinery. The person I spoke too said no problem with trailer, week rental and going to Portland. Went in to reserve the trailer and was told they don't let equipment leave the Treasure Valley. That put me in a bad position because I made plans based on the availability of the trailer per the phone call. Perhaps training is needed at this store so all people helping customers know this rule. Now I have to make other plans that will cost more. ARG!! Roger"

"Took the day off of work to get some important yard work done. Called the day before to reserve a sod cutter. When I went to pick it up, they were very friendly and showed me how it worked and helped me put it into the truck. Once we got it home, it wasn’t working right. After further inspection, we could see there was a missing bolt and the belt was chewed up. Wasted over an hour trying to get it to work, then had to muscle it back into the truck. Back at the store, they realized it wasn’t supposed to be rented out because it needed repair!!! Didn’t try to make it right by giving us options to make up for the lost time and inconvenience. Frustrating, because now I don’t have time to find another sod cutter at a different store. Completely wasted my day off because they didn’t keep their records straight. Will not be giving them my business again."

"Now, this was not my best experience, but the employees made sure my sh**y day wasn't horrible. Rented a compressor, hose, and an impact gun (asked for 3/4", got a 1/2") for 2 hours. Drove home, compressor leaked but when I drove back to their shop (1/2 hour into my 2 hour rental) it didn't leak. Returned the impact since it wasn't rated for the torque I needed, and bought an overkill 1" from harbor freight. (Figured 1" HF impact might equal a better brand 3/4" impact.) By now my 2 hours are almost up, so I drove to Tates to have them re-mcgyver their hose adapters to fit this bigger gun. Needed a fitting they didn't have so I went to a hardware store and bought the right fitting, by then I was over my 2 hour rental, only ran it for 5 minutes total, and i was pretty fed up with my day. After explaining everything to the manager, he printed out a new contract, which I was expecting to be for the 4 hour rental, and said "Sorry you're having a bad day, here you go." Contact had the total of $0.00. Said once I have all the fittings, come back and rent it for 2 hours. I will be coming back to these guys. They definitely saved my bacon from the Mrs."
