"Lived in Boise for so long, but never stopped by the Refuge until tonight. Stopped in, got our drinks and some food recs real quick. Don’t know if it was the manager or the owner or what but he kept the beers full and made sure we were good. Got the wings and some fries. Awesome bar wings, great crispy fries and cold beer. A great neighborhood bar that I hope to just become a regular at."

"Been staying in Boise for the last week and ate here three times. During those visits we've had the pork chop, steak, buffalo chicken sandwich and a burger. Service- It was quite busy two of the nights but the staff was on it. We expected a little delay but the staff picked it up. Very courteous. Atmosphere- Good, it's a sports bar... Costs- Actually priced accordingly and well worth it. Food- Everything was good and cooked to perfection with exception of the burger. Sadly it was supposed to be well done and was well overdone. The porkchop and steak were under $24 and well worth it. Buffalo chicken sandwich was what was expected. yep, we will be back"

"Unexpectedly good food and great taste. I walked in expecting mediocre bar food. The sandwiches and chili were very flavorful. The service was prompt and good. We sat outdoors, was good except sone bees dropping by on and off. They have kids menu, although that was the only one that was very bland."

"Active yet chill place. Diverse menu. Highly recommend the lamb burger. Food was well prepared. Seems to be a place where local gather… always a good indicator."

"I came to visit Boise and celebrate my friend’s life. All of her friends went to The Refuge for drinks and food. The staff was amazing and even wore Buffalo Bills shirts (she was a huge fan) because she used to watch the games there. The wings were by the far the best I’ve had outside of Buffalo or Rochester, NY (maybe even better) and served with crispy celery. The other food was great. I also had the pesto chicken pasta (yum) later and we all sampled each others food. The beer was fresh and the mixed drinks good (not too strong, not watered down). Great spot if you’re down near the quarry."
