"This has always been a favorite of ours however last night has left a sour taste in my mouth. The atmosphere was good, the food and service were sub par at best. First, ordering yourself, at the bar, has not been the greatest change but last night it was a really huge fail, that process needs some work. Having no wait staff isn’t a new thing, or unheard of in some restaurants and can be done without sacrificing the service to your customers. Idaho pizza is a great example of that! If you want your customers to seat themselves, order themselves and serve themselves then put the utensils out in the open. I had a heck of a time finding forks and napkins. The food was luke warm when it came out and most of my fries were overcooked, not a fan of burnt fries, especially when I look forward to dipping them in that homemade ketchup. Secondly, my burger was not well done like I asked, its was light pink throughout. The bottom bun had so much station sauce on it that it literally fell apart when I took my first bite. I ate the rest of my burger with no bottom bun. Put sauce on the burger and then lettuce on top of that, keeps the bun from getting too soggy, and who puts sauce on the bottom bun, the thinnest of the two pieces of bread that hold the whole thing together. Waited 15 more minutes to get a condiment I requested. This was after I was told once that it was available, then when my husband went to check on it for me he was told it wasn’t available by the same person and then a different staff member brought that condiment a few minutes later. My husband said his pizza was okay, wouldn’t order it again but it came out warm which was odd because it came out a few minutes after my burger. The salad bar was missing what i think is a staple to every salad, tomatoes! Where did the cherry tomatoes go? We did enjoy the live music, it was a bit loud but the food and service were what really made us disappointed in our choice to spend our date night at Hilltop. My husbands closing sentiment at the end of the evening, “boy that place is really going down hill” and I’d have to agree. I don’t know that we will make the trek again anytime soon."

"Here is one of my secret addictions! I love all of their burgers and pizzas, but there is nothing like their Macaroni and Cheese Pizza. I promise you will thank me when you bite into authentic, Southern Mac and Cheese on the perfect, crispy crust. It is the perfect blend of crunchy and creamy! Your Welcome!"

"We really wanted to love this place, but it was just, OK. We stopped in for date night. Upon arriving, there were a few folks and another couple. Cute, cozy and definitely the kind of ambiance we were looking for. Fireplace, candles, there's a TV but it isn't a loud distraction, some nice music. Service was friendly. The food was the only problem. We each ordered a margarita, tasty & strong. 2 pizzas, BBQ chicken & veggie. I got the chicken legs and some fries, the bf got a brisket sandwich and fries. The pizza was ok, nothing special. But both of us had really burnt fries. My chicken legs just were not appetizing, luke warm, with a dry rub, that was just,... too much and I dont know who likes cold, floppy chikn skin, but, not me. The bf said his sandwich was ok."

"I've lost count of how many times I've eaten here but this is a great, off the beaten path, restaurant and bar, just NorthEast of Boise on Hwy 21. The soft pretzels, with house ground mustard, cheese sauce or marinara, are so good that my co-workers and I come often, just for the pretzels. They also have great burgers and specialty pizzas and soups. Nothing is deep fried here and even the French Fries are baked, which I appreciate. Wonderful home made desserts also. They have a great selection of beer on tap or in bottles, if you so desire. The wait staff is excellent and friendly. Hilltop Station is worth the short drive North East."

"After a few hours of hiking mountains, we stopped in this place. Everything was amazing and the staff was wonderful. All the food was homemade, even the ketchup and mustard. The atmosphere is warm and comforting, and I loved the little lights in the bar. There is an outside porch with lights where you can eat and be surrounded by mountains. The prices were amazing, and there was a big selection of pizzas and beer. The burgers were amazing, and they have a daily special burger. We also got a cheese plate and crab and jalepeno dip. The dip was amazing and I could probably just die eating it. The cheese came on a plate with a cutter, and it was so much fun to use. I loved everything about my visit here, and highly recommend it."
