"Won't you sell me a watch battery? I went in to get a common 395 watch battery. The employee offered me their $20 service to replace it, which includes lifetime replacement. That would be fine, but I explained to him that I have watch repair experience and just need the battery for a watch I am selling, so I don't need the warranty. He then told me that they could not sell me the battery by itself because of "certain federal packaging restrictions." After leaving, I did a quick online search and discovered that my local Ace hardware has the battery in stock. Apparently, the restrictions don't apply to them."
"Hope you DID go in to this store = right across from Cost Co - to get AA and/or AAA batteries. The 48 packs were on sale. The price per battery at Batteries Plus was 35 cents EACH. Same sizes were .45 cents EACH at Cost Co, even with $3 off they offered. Parking is easy. Staff is friendly. And NO LINE when I was there."
