"Lived in the unit above the chinese restaurant the Riksha, the ceiling leaked the entire year and 1/2 that I lived there, you'd either have people from other buildings walking on your roof having rocks fall on you, or water when it rains leaking into your bedrooms dripping all over. When you move out, they will charge you for features you never had, we were charged $75 for curtain rods, we did not have curtain rods when we moved in, we were charged $100 for "towel holders" there were never any towel holders in the bathroom, and no holes in the wall indicating we removed one. $90 for circle holders in the bathroom, $50 for a showerhead, that was in no way damaged as we used removable shower heads, and returned the original to their positions after moving out, and all features we never received when we lived there. We sublet to start our lease, and got charged for a broken drawer in the fridge, that was broken when we moved in and told don't worry about. We even left 3 pairs of blinds up for the next residence that would move in, as having no blinds for your living room is kinda creepy, so we wanted to be nice, we paid to have the loft professionally cleaned ourselves on move in, and move out and they are trying to charge us for things that did not exist. The staff never gave us trouble while we lived here, but these practices when they already take a $500 cut of your deposit non-negotiable is unacceptable, and worth reporting. it makes sense rent is going from 1275 to 1500 with the new tenants, because they charge old tenants to upgrade the property with features that never existed, by holding the deposit, and then increase the rent later."
