"Called customer service for a defective gold chain that was bought there. Lady who answered in customer service snapped and said the woman at another jewelry store was a liar for telling us it broke because it was defective and started yelling. When told she didn’t have to be rude we were just asking a question she said “I am not being rude” and hung up. JCPenney has better standards and whoever answered in customer service is either having a bad day or chose the wrong career. Disappointed and frankly disgusted."

"I recently visited this JCPennys, at oak mall, and had a mixed experience that I feel compelled to share. While the store itself offers a fantastic selection of trendy and quality clothing, I was disappointed with the customer service I received from the cashier.The cashier appeared disinterested and was not helpful during the checkout process. The product I was purchasing would not ring up and she asked if there was more, i informed her i believe there was and we just stared at each other for a moment, and i asked do you want me to go get another one...still no response just a dead stare and an eye roll. Ultimately I just said, don't worry about it ill just pass on the pants and left it at my single purchase, knowing i can just order the same thing online and have it sent to my house.. Their lack of enthusiasm made the overall experience less enjoyable. I believe that excellent customer service is crucial, especially in a retail setting where interactions with staff can greatly impact the overall impression of the store.Despite this unfortunate encounter, the store's wide variety of stylish clothing and the overall ambiance are still reasons why I appreciate JCPennys Clothing. I hope that the management takes note of the importance of positive customer interactions to ensure a more consistent and enjoyable shopping experience for all patrons."

"We went to JC Penny's at Oak Park this afternoon. The first 15 minutes we were all through the store never saw an employee until we went to the checkout register, the lady there had such broken English swe could hardly understand her. The customer ahead of us wanted to pay cash she kept asking him to apply for a credit card when he finally got through to her he didn't want one her entire attitude changed. She very rudely finished with him not even a thank you at all."
