Menards

"Disappointing experience for my 86 year old father in law. He purchased a washer and dryer from Menards. He then paid the $200 delivery/installation fee to have the appliances installed in his garage. Long story short, the drain hose was too short, flooding his garage. He now can't use his new washer because of this issue. I called Menards on his behalf and was told he needed to hire a plummer to fix the issue, and there was nothing else Menards could do. This is a great example of poor, uncaring customer service. He essentially paid an $extra $200 for nothing more than a flooded garage. Thanks, Menards, for your lack of caring for this elderly citizen who you didn't mind ripping off $200 he can't afford on a fixed income."

"My husband missed a small item when we were bagging our purchase. I called to see if anyone had turned it in to the cashier. Rather than be helpful or simply explain policy, she accused me of trying to cheat the store, that they hasn't no proof I didn't have it. So my experience netted two outcomes: no honesty from customer(s) behind us in line, and an employee with zero people skills, and poor managerial skills/training."

"My husband and I just bought a house and needed a fair amount of stuff, and we already knew we love menards. We went to the store with a list of things to get. We asked Hayden where one item was and he walked around the whole time with us finding everything on our list. We both thought that was the best thing in the world. It's hard to find help like that anymore. Thank you so much Hayden you truly are amazing!"

"Used to come here more often. They do carry a handful of things that I like to use and they are the only place in town that stocks them. That being said, if I'm working in the area and need something specific, 9 times out of 10, that's the one thing they are out of. I have learned not to trust what the inventory count is on the App or online because it is never correct. I have had employees tell me the computers in the store never have it right, even after they do inventory. Like other reviews stated, the store overall has a hurry up and wait attitude. I call it the Walmart of home improvement cause they carry lots and also hire anyone with no knowledge of the items they sell. Another story for another day but they owe me 50 bags of cellulose or $300... Something their "correct inventory" screwed me on. Will I keep coming back? Unfortunately yes, but I'll be honest, I avoid here if I can ever since the manager told me I'd have to eat the loss on the insulation. They do have a large selection of different things, I'll give them that, but you must be wary of the quality of all of it."
