"Counter guy doesn't pay close attention to the information that you are giving him. You repeat it several times. A good parts guy writes it down back in the day. This avoids the customer thinking if they are even paying any attention. There seems to be a lack of stocked parts. It's better than O'Reilly, though."

"Went here in search for a battery wire. They didn't have what I needed. The person who tried to help me was very helpful. He understood what I was explaining and what I needed, but they just didn't have what I needed to get the job done. I ended up going to a competitor and they had the exact part sitting on the shelf. A point taken off for not having the part, but a point added for the employee."

"Advance Auto Parts had a trailer hitch that was not at other competitors. And, at a price point that was acceptable. They looked the part up to see if it fit, but my truck is older than the database. This old '72 Ford is all I have, so I want the best. They had the best opportunity I found. Wish me luck, I need it.... Good luck to you as well."
