"Zan Payne the Principal of the school is a nice lady, but not a leader or someone who can effectively do the job. Several complaints about bullying on the bus and always told "thats sad" well I will move the seating around. 5 complaints later and same kids same story. So the 2 kids that have been the trouble started throwing rocks and sticks at my oldest son and so my younger boy threw things back to protect his brother. My older son was hit just under the eye and cut and a lot of bruising. I have had enough so I went to the school and got very loud and had many words 4 letter words to be exact to say to this woman. She told me it was my problem and i should call the police. I raised hell till she called them and the officer showed up , very good guy, Officer Bell. Well she kept no records of the past complaints and provided disiplinary report on the bully and my son had no such reports. Also none of the reports she provided concerned my son in any way. She told the officer that she is only responsible for the chilren on school grounds, then its the buses resposibility, then its upto your child to get home safe. Reading the Salem keizer school districts regulations, its seems there is a door to door policy for the kids safety. Now im not stupid and i understand that kids will seek opportunity to do as they please, but if there were true actions and records kept from the past maybe we would not be here now. After my behavior at the school the pricipal had the officer give me a warning that if i had further outbursts i would be in tresspass being the staff would be in fear for their safety. So just so i am clear the staff is protected but not the children. Zan Payne is a weak leader and though a nice lady, she does not need to be in charge and she doesnt do or know her job. Smiling for a living is for models and walmart greeters not for Principals who have a great responsibility to keep our kids safe as stated in the first sentace of the Yoshikai Elementary mission statement. Supremely disappointed."
