"When my 88 year old mom moved from an assisted living facility in another state to Lakeview Senior Living, her life changed immeasurably for the better! Not only are the facility and grounds lovely, every last member of the staff at Lakeview is kind, caring, and attentive. They not only understand her medical status and physical needs, they have taken a genuine interest in her emotional well-being and happiness. It is not unusual for me stop in for a visit to find her joking and laughing with the caretakers, and she tells me frequently about their warm-heartedness. She is treated with respect and dignity, and tended to in the way that I would tend to her myself. The residents, too, are kind, supportive and caring with each other; a reflection of the genuinely loving environment created by the management and staff. I could not be happier with our decision to make Lakeview mom’s home!"

"This facility is not perfect...none of them are, but they went above and beyond for my parents in their last several years. When my mom was dying, the director (Janet) and the aids were at the hospital with her daily. They helped us transition her from independent to assisted living, and we're so kind and gentle dealing with her dementia issues in that move. They were more than helpful to us as we moved her things after she passed. Are they expensive, yes. But they really cared for my folks, and gave peace of mind as I lived quite a distance away. Compared to some other similar places, this one is a gem :)"

"If we could give this place a zero we would. We can only speak to the Memory Care (dementia, Alzheimer's) Unit of Lakeview Senior Living and the level of care was atrocious. We were originally given a quote of $3000/mo for my father to stay in a private room with approx $500 of "points" for different levels of care (helping with toilet care, etc) and the first and successive bills we received for his care jumped to $7500/mo. There was approx 1 care provider for every 15 residents (they told us it was 1 caregiver for every 5 residents) & we found out later from a former employee at the home that my father was given narcotics to calm him down even tho we specifically told them he was not to be given them to take and that they made his dementia 10 times worse. They refused to let him and other residents walk which drastically advanced each resident's ability to even stand up (there were not enough people to care for the residents). The general caregivers are untrained, unqualified and overworked; every one we spoke to were less than disgruntled about the environment and their treatment by supervisors. At one point my father was restricted to his bed but we were told that residents were not allowed to eat in their rooms so he got nothing for a day and a half from Lakeview and we had to bring him food. We visited him every day but there were only one or two other residents who got regular visits. It is indeed incredibly trying to care for a dementia/Alzheimer's loved one, but it can be done with a lot more love and care for a lot less money if you take the time to set up your residence and hire a full-time care giver. If you care about your loved one, don't even think about putting them in this horrible environment."
