About the Business

Keizer Cultural Center

The Keizer Cultural Center, located at 980 Chemawa Road Northeast in Keizer, Oregon, is a hub for the cultural community of Keizer. The center includes the Keizer Heritage Museum, which features a beautifully restored model of the "Old Keizer Schoolhouse" thanks to the dedicated volunteer work of Beth Melendy. This model was used for fundraising efforts to save and restore the actual Keizer School, and now stands as a treasure for the community.

Additionally, the Keizer Cultural Center is currently offering the opportunity to own a piece of history with the sale of 108-year-old solid wood doors from the center. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Keizer Heritage Museum, which is run by the Keizer Heritage Foundation. The foundation is currently seeking 100 Keizer residents to make a one-time contribution to raise funds for repairs and maintenance of the Old Keizer School.

The center houses four non-profit volunteer-operated organizations that directly benefit the Keizer Community. Volunteers are always welcome to help support the center's mission and vision. The Keizer Cultural Center is a vital part of preserving Keizer's heritage and history, and relies on the support of the Keizer Community to continue its important work.

"I'm so glad this old school house was restored. The building houses a library, art gallery, museum and event space. I've met several people who went to school in the building or taught school there. It is worth a visit. Check their website for hours and don't forget to like on Facebook. The building just had a one hundred year anniversary."

"We had my daughters wedding and reception here. Beautiful location, comfortable, and very accommodating. Some of the employees were not helpful and should probably retire or not be in the hospitality business. know it's a heritage/museum location but if you allow weddings or receptions there then you should consider someone more friendly and helpful. Other than that it's a beautiful location."

"Charming old school house moved to this location some years ago. Had our wedding here in 2010. The kitchen has a huge commercial fridge with lots of room for preparation. The main room used for weddings doubles as the reception area. The price is very good. If you're on a budget, then this place is for you."
