"The environment inside the store is not welcoming and neither are the staff. No one greets you when you walk in, almost feels like they’re annoyed when a customer comes in. I’ve heard the staff gossiping about the clothes customers have brought in and just gossiping in general. They don’t attend to any customers."

"Sorry but when you go in and they’re gossiping about fellow coworkers it’s not a great environment. Then when you pull something off the shelf with brand new tags and they have it marked up 4 times higher than the original sale price that is insane and ridiculous. We refuse to shop here anymore."

"DO NOT SELL YOUR CLOTHES HERE. This was the 2nd time I have brought in barely worn, in-style, name-brand clothing only to get a few bucks from every thing I brought in. Even clothes I had previously bought from this location!! However, today was an APPALLING experience. The blonde haired girl with freckles should be fired for how unwelcoming, rude, and unprofessional she was. I dropped off two large bags full of men’s and women’s clothing, accessories and shoes. Only 6 items worth $26 were taken. I understand the pickiness of Plato’s and usually have decent luck - $50 to $100 at a time. I walked in to drop off my bags, and wasn’t even welcomed with a hello. The girl slid the paper and pen across to me and said “10-15 minutes" which that wait time was Not a problem for me. I wrote down my info assuming they would call/text after everything was sorted (because that was what happened the last time I sold here). I went and sat in my car for 30 minutes before thinking “hmmm they should be done”. I walked in and just asked if they were going to text me or give me a call when they were done. Same girl told me “no we won’t text you. Here’s the stuff we picked out.” Overall, I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Terrible customer service, rude employees, non-beneficial payouts and a very poor experience in general. Note to the owners/managers - take all of these poor reviews into consideration in your hiring process. To customers & sellers - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Find somewhere else to sell your clothes or at the very least just donate them. **EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE** The owner response was more focused on the fact that they didn’t take my clothes and that my clothes were “no exception”. RATHER than promising to work with their staff to create a better environment for sellers and shoppers. “We are always working on customer service” - Obviously NOT if that’s what all these low rated reviews are about and it is still a problem! Congratulations Plato’s in Salem you have really earned your 1star reviews. I hope no one else has a terrible experience here BUT after their track record I don’t see it happening. Have the day you deserve, Plato’s in Salem."

"When ever I take top of the line clothes in perfect condition they offer pennies on the dollar to me. I get the pawn store vibes. I always feel like punching myself in the face as I walk out."
