"This place is like a lot of bars in OR - gotta be 21 to enter. Luckily, with a 16 yo we were allowed to sit outside. It was a little warm in the sun (but who should complain when you’ve got sun in OR in March!) The food was prepared well - though it took a while for it to come out and the help was friendly to us. This is definitely a local’s hangout in Florence - but has a genuine earthiness that we enjoyed!"
"The Beachcomber is a plesent place for either friends to get together for a drink or families looking for a quick bite. When you walk in it is clearly a bar. It's bar is promenent. The table games and pull tables are also obvious. They have a full bar with many beers on tap. But when you order food you will be surprised. The food is hot and fresh with big flavors. We got a pretzel popper dish that was similar to a jalapeño popper without the jalepenos. These are addictive. Restrain yourself. Because the burgers are hot and full of flavor. Don't mind the ingredients falling out. Pick them up with the hot fries and eat it all together. The beachcomber is a stop for everyone wanting to visit and see where the locals hang out."
"Simple bar atmosphere. Small and cozy. Very friendly waitress. Ordered their “signature” coconut shrimp. 5 shrimp with very thick batter and little coconut with a sweet jalapeño jelly. Also came with a Caesar salad. It didn’t wow me especially for $26! Great Long Island Ice tea. Good clam chowder."
"This has become our go to place when stopping by Florence. They offer outdoor dining for fair days with a large indoor area that has a charming atmosphere. We had the clam chowder and French dip sub which were delicious beyond words. The chowder was fresh with the best clams I've had in probably a decade. The French dip was thick and smokey with some of the best roasted beef that complimented their house au jus divinely. The wait staff was friendly and attentive even when the pace started to get packed. We can't wait for our next visit to try more of their menu. They also have an amazing selection of craft drafts from all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Definitely stop by and have pint and a meal when visiting Old Town Florence, you won't be disappointed."
