About the Business

George Fox University: Klages Center

The George Fox University Klages Center, located at 409 Carlton Way in Newberg, Oregon, is a multifaceted institution offering a variety of services for students. Named after devoted alumna Esther Klages, the center is home to the Maker Hub, the math program, the Bruin Store, and the Maker’s Market for quick grab-and-go food options. Students can enjoy a comfortable dining space to eat and study together in this bustling hub of activity.

The Maker Hub, formerly the university’s dining hall, was transformed in 2016 into a state-of-the-art 16,000-square-foot facility for design, prototyping, and fabrication. It features a machine and woodworking shop, manufacturing and prototyping lab equipped with 3D printers and laser cutters, design rooms, an environmental lab, and a tool room. The Collaboratory at the center allows students from various majors to collaborate on design projects, fostering creativity and innovation.

The lower level of the Klages Center houses the FoxHole, a dedicated space for commuter students. Here, students can find a study area, comfortable seating, and a kitchen to eat with friends, study in groups, and relax between classes. The Klages Center is a vibrant hub of activity and innovation, providing students with a dynamic and supportive environment for their academic and social endeavors.

"Klages has the student post office boxes, the student store and the engineering departments maker lab. This is also the location of Bruin Bites and the Bruin Den. Bruin Bites is a snack shop while the Den is Deli of sorts with a few breakfast items and a fairly complete lunch menu with daily specials."
