"This place lives up to the allure and long waits to get a table. Definitely worth the trip and parking. I had the Smoked Pork Benedict. I found it very tasty and unique. It has a very faint and subtle hint of blue cheese and that’s enough. I’m not a blue cheese lover but in this case it makes for a wonderful contrast between the flavors of the smoked pork and hollandaise sauce. My wife had the Wild Mushroom Scramble and she was equally delighted. Our son seemed very pleased with the Apple-Blueberry Pancakes. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and efficient. The food came out quick enough. And the atmosphere was fantastic; helped by all the carefully chosen decor. This is definitely a place to visit!"
"We love screen door. By far our favorite breakfast joint in downtown. It’s comfort foods at its best. The fried chicken is juicy, crispy & salty which pairs well the sweet potato waffles. I got shrimp & cheesy grits. Which was good. But I prefer the catfish. I judge a good southern place by its catfish & fried okra. This place does not disappoint."
"Stopped by after spending couple of hours at Powell's and having worked up an appetite. Good food, great service and lovely ambiance. We were able to squeeze in just before their afternoon seatings were going to close. Restaurant in a working day at 2:30pm was still quite crowded so prepare accordingly. All dishes were big portions so easily can be shared. Brunch style menu with dishes with eggs and toast. Food for the soul. Recommend."
"Best breakfast I’ve ever had. My mother mentioned it’s the best French toast she’s ever had as well. Perfectly sweet and the sauce was unlike anything we have ever tried. Eggs were cooked perfectly as well. Delicious diced potatoes as they were seasoned with Cajun spices. My mom loved their coffee and their nonalcoholic drinks were so refreshing! Atmosphere was very warm and inviting. If you are ever in Portland this place is a must stop. Also, surprisingly affordable prices!"
