"So dang good. First time here and everything we had was delicious. Oyster Shooters, Calamari and Crab on Indian Fry Bread, all were incredible. Recommend doing the Crab Fry Bread half and half with the two flavor options, both were delicious and unique. Service was good but you do have to order at the counter. Didn’t realize beers were in can when we ordered, would have preferred draft. Overall good experience and will definitely be back."

"When you ask a local in Astoria where to eat, South Bay is usually near the top of the list. They're not your usual fried seafood joint. There's greater creative effort here. And while they don't offer a waterfront view, you'll still find a warm and comforting vibe that may explain the line at the door to get in. We chose a quiet afternoon when we could get two seats at a very long, communal table, have the place almost to ourselves, and talk with the staff. Seems they really care, so there's another reason for that long line. Yes, you should go."

"We love everything here. Especially the Calamari and clam chowder. The Calamari are always lightly crispy and all the way tender. The chowder is, without a doubt, some of the best ANYWHERE on the coast, and in my opinion, there isn't even a close second. I had the fried oyster plate for the first time, and I was not disappointed. The oysters are huge, and you get 6 crispy yet delicately tender oysters. I was so stuffed I had to leave one on my plate. Sad. lol Bouy Cream Ale was so clean and refreshing. A GREAT beer! We've been coming here for 6 years now and have never been disappointed. The family that owns and runs this establishment genuinely cares about the quality of the food. The only downside is that they are closed Sun-Tues."

"4.2/5 Very good seafood for a reasonable price! We dropped in as we were driving through Astoria. To start with, we tried their Dungeness Crab Cocktail which tasted very fresh with a hint of sweetness to the meat, and Oyster Shooters, which were fresh and juicy and much larger than we expected. Their cocktail sauce is outstanding! We were dipping our fries in this later on. For mains, we ordered their Prawns & Chips and Rockfish & Chips. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions here. The prawns were very meaty and the Rockfish was dense, similar to the consistency of halibut. If you like seafood, I’d recommend visiting!"

"This place is definitely a happening little place to be. Seems the locals know it well. It’s busy, but definitely worth the wait! We had Rock fish tacos and the Rock fish and chips. For an appetizer we enjoyed the Calamari, which was as tender as the fish. Great Job to the entire establishment for service and food! Hands down one of the best in the entire state of Oregon."
