"This guy will tell you he’ll work on your car in a couple days, and then never call you back because he’s too busy kitesurfing. I had my car there for a month before I got tired of waiting around and got it towed to another shop."
"This mechanic is hit or miss. No one answers or returns calls. Voicemail rarely checked to the point in which it’s common for it to be full. Owner has the memory of a goldfish. My car has sat there for EDIT: over A MONTH despite being told I’d hear about it in a couple days. I’ve walked down there multiple times and he is always closed. No spare key otherwise I’d just take the damn car back myself already. According to other reviews I am not the first person to have to contact the police. EDIT: I got the car back. It was repaired despite me explicitly telling him I only wanted a diagnostic run and we could discuss the parts that needed to be ordered. He never called me to discuss ordering parts. Needless to say I will not be a returning customer."
"My husband and I were in Hood River for a wedding when our car battery suddenly went dead on Sunday. Gorge Automotive said they would open for us which they did. They got the battery charged and we were able to get home before dark. The owner was knowledgeable, and friendly. He didn't charge us a dime for all the time he was at his shop on Sunday! Can't recommend them enough."
"I cannot begin to tell you how thankful I am for Gorge Automotive. After my daughter's and my roadtrip to Seattle (to see Taylor Swift) hit a snag (the alternator died and drained the battery), he got to work on our car at 5 in the morning in order to have us on the road by 9 a.m. A true life saver and a really nice guy to boot!"
"Super awesome guy and a life saver! Our Tundra died a long way from home and we called a few auto shops to have us towed to and David was the most willing to help us out as quickly as possible. He sounded very knowledgeable on the phone and got to us right away when we arrived. Turns out it was a simple fix, but he was able to give us some tips on proper parts and hookup in the future and even helped lead us back to the highway. Highly recommend and would come back again if we didn't live out of the area!"
