"My husband and are starting our first fish tank, and came to this Pet Smart location seeking our starter fish. We asked the employee in the fish area for 4 Dwarf Gourami, and she immediately shut us down stating they need to be kept in odd numbers. My husband and I have been doing research for weeks regarding the species for our community tank, and never once came upon anything stating they NEED to be kept in odd numbers. She also insisted they needed to be kept in brackish water, and explained that another employee had her personal Gouramis kept in brackish water. She then said they were kept in freshwater at the store, but that's "Why they don't live real long." I appreciated the suggestion from a personal experience, but we have found no evidence for this to be true while doing our research. And I would have appreciated it more if she didn't come off so snotty. Her attitude was condescending, and we immediately felt belittled, ultimately ruining our experience. She went as far as to tell us we should do some reasech on Gouramis, insinuating we hadn't. I understand and respect that she was advocating for the fish, but she certainly didn't need to be rude or speak down to us. Other than the employee, we did find a nice selection of freshwater fish."
"Had my bernedoodle in for a bath and brush but didn’t clean his ears… I called and was offered $5 refund and I had to come back to receive it. I explained to her that one ear was mostly clean and it was just the right one that looked like it hadn’t been touched. I live 25 minutes from this pet smart and was told i could bring him back another time for the other ear or come pick up the 5 dollars. Ridiculous…"
