"Fun beach for a hot day. The water is a little gross but I guess that's what you get for the bay. We showered when we got home and were fine"

"We followed someone’s advice and parked in the charming Point Richmond area and walked about 10 minutes up through the Ferry Point tunnel to the beach. I would recommend that, as the downtown is very cute and the tunnel is nice and cool during a hot day. The actual beach is somewhat small, but wasn’t busy, so it would be nice to visit with a small group. You can walk up a path from the beach and have a nice picnic overlooking the bay with the sound of waves in the background. If you walk along the path, you can cut over into a park (which I believe is part of the Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline area). The park has a pond where we saw 3-4 egrets (including a very tiny one). It had plenty of picnic areas. If you don’t cut over, you’ll come to the blocked end of the decommissioned rail line. It’s a nice kind of abandoned photo shoot with the old railway overlooking the bay. I would recommend using a different bathroom before visiting. The bathrooms were filthy, flies/bugs were buzzing all around unflushed toilets."
