About the Business
The Hayward Plunge is a year-round aquatic facility located at 24176 Mission Boulevard in Hayward, California. Offering lap swimming, water walking, and public recreational swim, the Hayward Plunge also provides a variety of swim lessons taught by certified American Red Cross Instructors. From Parent/Toddler classes to Adult lessons, swimmers of all ages and abilities can improve their skills in a safe and supportive environment.
In addition to swim lessons, the Hayward Plunge offers Water Fitness classes, Camps, Certification classes for Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructors, as well as Swim Teams and Conditioning programs. The facility is open for drop-in visits during the current schedule, with classes for the Spring session running from April 8th to June 7th, 2024.
Classes are open to adults 16 years and older on a first come, first served basis, with equipment provided and the pool temperature set at a comfortable 82 degrees. Whether you're looking to improve your swimming technique, stay active, or simply enjoy a refreshing swim, the Hayward Plunge has something for everyone. "This is for the TRAIL. Quite shady which is why I like it especially in the summer. Goes for quite a while to green belt park. Ends in a nice area near Fairview. A bit shabby. The trail I would walk when I was a pothead and sipped brew chilling on a bench. Still cool though."
"I so needed a swim, and Hayward Plunge was just the place! four out of five for not having a swim suit spinner. I loved the old building and it's charm, and everyone I spoke to was friendly and helpful. not too much chlorine, water tasted a little funny, only two showers in the top floor, tiny locker room. apparently there's a locker room with showers in the basement that I hear is always cold, and probably inhabited by ghosts. super fun!"
